You’re planning to visit the beautiful island of Kauai and would like to know what months are the slowest, or busiest, perhaps to find the best deals or the least amount of traffic or people on the beach. Below is information from the Hawaii Tourism Authority with total visitors information for Kauai for the year 2015, the last year full monthly reports are available. According to the data, November is the least-visited month of the year, followed by September and February. The summer months are the most visited, with July being the most popular month of the year for travel to Kauai. March sees a spike during the spring break weeks when families travel to Kauai on the break. In our experience, the weeks to watch out for are those around major holidays and the last two weeks of December and the first week of January when the kids are out of school during the Christmas break. In the first week of January we’ve seen major traffic jams not only in Kapaa but all the way from Kilauea to Kapaa.
